Athanasios (Sakis) Krezios

About:

Something that I like from The Depeche Mode:

"...because I like to practice what I preach
I'm not trying to say I'll have it all my way
I'm always willing to learn
When you've got something to teach
And I'll make it all worthwhile
I'll make your heart smile"
from Strange Love...indeed international youth work is a strange love!

Current occupation

Registered freelance youth trainer & consultant

Work experience

1) Founder and CEO of ALPIKA S.A (2011 onwards), a company focused on the promotion of outdoor/indoor/urban sports, arts and culture
2) Training & consultancy in the field of non-formal learning & international youth work (2003 onwards).
3) Author of "Here2Stay - A handbook on non-formal learning and its social recognition" and "Go YEGLing" (on youth exchange group leadership) and several other reports, articles etc. (2003 onwards)

Educational pathway

3) Training of Trainers in Human Rights Education with young people. TC organized by COE, Budapest, 06 - 15/03/2006. A really high quality training course that boosted my interest in Human Rights & Human Rights Education but also improved my trainer's competences in the field.#

2) Accredited Practitioner of the Institute of Outdoor Learning / https://www.outdoor-learning.org (2008)

3) Introduction to organizing international youth activities, TC organized by COE, Strasbourg, 16-27/11/2004. After 8 years of experience in international youth work, this training course was the key to structure my knowledge and develop my skills towards a quality "ethos"

4) Difference meets tolerance, TC organized by IKAB, Bonn and the German "Youth" National Agency, May 2003. Not only because of the content, which was efficiently and effectively delivered, but also because it encouraged and enlightened me to understand how a TC under a non formal learning setting should be.

5) Information Systems (focus on Geography). My "formal" studies. They have empowered me not only to skillfully interact with nowadays "alphabet" but also to understand the importance and the benefits of the efficient use of new information technologies.
