Intercultural Trainer-Consultant
Dr. Mary Drosopulos is the Founder of the Eurobalkan Youth Forum, an independent, women-led network, providing pro bono mentoring to organizations & young professionals from minority or conflict-affected communities. She is a multilingual trainer, consultant & writer (7 working languages), with a solid background in Education and Communication (people & change; cultural mediation; interactive learning; cultural awareness in content creation; politics-religion-ideology-gender).
Since 2012, she has been a consultant & trainer with the Council of Europe (EuroArab Cooperation, Human Rights Education, Refugees' integration, Quality Label Youth Centers, Training of government officials on intercultural dialogue). She is also a member of the Pool of European Youth Researchers of the Youth Partnership (European Union-CoE).
Mary has long-standing experience in designing, handling, or facilitating projects with international organizations, think-tanks & universities in Europe, Asia & the Middle East: the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) (Sarajevo), the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) (Athens), the Balkan Forum (Prishtina), the Council of Europe (France, Hungary, Morocco, Turkey, Qatar), etc.
She holds a BA in English & American studies from the Department of Philosophy of the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki); a Diploma in Balkan & Turkish studies; MA in Conference Interpreting & Translation (University of Cyprus) & a PhD with Honours in Intercultural studies from the Department of Education of the Aristotle University.
As a post-doctoral research assistant in the 'Consolidated Learning in SEE' project, supported by the Universities of Leeds, Bournemouth & Pristina, she has conducted field research investigating cross-sectoral, arts-based, SDGs-oriented approaches to post-conflict state building in Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina & Rwanda, especially feminist activism in Kosovo, participatory arts, gender narratives, conflict resolution, theory of change, women & stereotypes.
Mary has published books & articles, while her findings have led to policy recommendations & advocacy campaigns.
