Aims & objectives

A training course organized by and funded through the TCP plan of several National Agencies of the Youth/Youth in Action Programme. From 2007 and then on, it is a Network Training coordinated by SALTO Training & Cooperation

AIM

To give a strong positive first experience of international youth work and motivate participants to use the Youth in Action Programme.


OBJECTIVES

To give participants the opportunity to:

- experience an international youth project
- taste intercultural learning
- share own youth work experience with other participants
- understand possibilities offered by the Youth in Action programme
- see examples of quality youth projects supported by the Youth/Youth in Action programme.
- Imagine how to benefit from international context in their own youth work practice.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth workers / leaders with experience in local projects but with no international experience, willing to try out the Youth in Action Programme and the possibilities it offers.
I have delivered this training course with Monika Kezaite (LT), Yvor Broer (DK/NL), Eylem Certel (TR) and Nerijus Kriaučiūnas (LT)

Training methods used & main activities

Group work, short lectures, multimedia presentations, simulation exercises. In-vivo and online.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants had their first intercultural experience (naturally and through experiential learning activities) and got stimulated to begin co-operations towards the realization of international youth work projects.

Training planning, preparation, delivery, evaluation & reporting.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
