SALTO-YOUTH Title

Who are we?

We support cooperation in the youth field between Programme Countries and the Western Balkans in Erasmus+: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps

Our work is focused on promoting participation of young people and other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education from the Western Balkans in two European Union Youth programmes: Erasmus+: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps.

Both programmes aim to contribute to promoting stability in the Western Balkans region by supporting the development of youth work and promoting the multicultural awareness, tolerance and solidarity among young people. They are complimentary to other efforts of the European Union's enlargement policy stating the perspective of Western Balkan countries joining the Union in the future. In particular, the Programmes support the building of long-lasting partnerships and the exchange of youth work practice between groups of young people, youth organisations, youth workers, youth leaders and other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education, from different countries in Europe.

We have been established in 2002 and are  hosted in Ljubljana, by Slovenian National Agency, Movit. We connect Programme countries and Western Balkan region by offering support for enhancing co-operation to:

Our programme of activities is run with the support of pools of trainers and accreditors, as well as Contact Points located in the Western Balkan region. We closely work together with the European Commission (Directorate General Education and Culture, Youth Unit) and with other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education in Western Balkans and beyond, in particular the Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission in the youth field.
