Aims & objectives

AIM

the exploration of the concept of youth participation, the provision of knowledge regarding the Youth in Action programme and more specifically Action 1.3 and the development of necessary competencies for realizing a youth democracy project.

OBJECTIVES

1)To explore the added value of Youth Democracy projects for the local community
2)To acquire project management and communication competencies
3)To develop understanding about the principles of youth participation
4)To learn about the “Youth in Action” Programme and especially about the quality criteria of Action 1.3 Youth Democracy project
5)To share and transfer experiences of activities undertaken in the local community
6)To create a space for contact making and finding potential partners for Youth Democracy projects
7)To develop an action plan to realise a Youth Democracy project

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth workers/leaders willing to organize youth democracy projects (Action 1.3) aged from 18 and residing in one of the Programme countries. Trainings have been delivered with Iva Havlickova (CZ) and Fatima Laanan from SALTO-YOUTH Participation,BE.

Multimedia presentations, lectures, simulations, cooperative learning exercises, team development activities

Outcomes of the activity

A set of youth democracy projects and their action plans towards their application and implementation. Informal networks of youth workers interested in the topics of youth democracy & participation. Resource-style reports (get them here => http://www.salto-youth.net/YDPdescription/)

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Training delivery (in topics such as youth participation, project management, creativity in youth work, YiA programme, team development) and co-author of the final reports.
