Aims & objectives

The training seminar aimed to further develop and consolidate the competences of youth leaders and multipliers in democratic youth participation in their role as trainers and young activists, through non formal educational youth projects in the context of Euro-Arab and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
Specific objectives:

• To share and deepen experiences and knowledge with the concepts of democracy, human rights, youth participation, inclusion and intercultural dialogue.
• To identify criteria for quality in youth projects, fostering democratic youth participation through non-formal education.
• To explore current developments and new trends in democratic youth participation in the Euro-Arab context and relevance for local national and international youth projects
• To review and enhance participants competencies (knowledge, skills attitudes in working as trainers/multipliers on democratic participation within non-formal learning settings.
• To strengthen participants competences to work with Compass and the T-Kit Mosaic, and adapting their activities to the participants contexts.
• To support participants in developing joint projects fostering democratic youth participation contributing to youth policies.
• To foster Euro-Arab and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and exchange between youth organisations and youth leaders and develop informal networks and partnerships for action at national, regional and international level.

With the context of the council of Europe campaign for human rights online, the No Hate Speech Movement, the training course placed specific emphasis on role on combatting hate speech in the context of Euro-Arab and Euro-Mediterranean youth cooperation www.nohatespeechmovement.org

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants from European and Arab countries: Jordan, Egypt, Marocco, Tunisia, FYROM, Belgium, Ireland, Austria etc

Non-formal education methods based on the principles of the Council of Europe.

Outcomes of the activity

• Deepened knowledge about democracy, human rights, youth participation, inclusion and intercultural dialogue.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Trainer.
-To prepare, run and evaluate e-learning units for 2013.
-To prepare, run and evaluate plenary sessions and working group sessions of the programme, in accordance with the other trainers and the course director;
-To provide support in the form of mentoring to the development and implementation of project initiatives of participants and their learning process within the framework of the training course;
-To support the documentation of the training seminar, the project initiatives and learning process of the participants, in accordance with the course director(s) and other trainers in the course;
-To draft the report on the training seminar covering the aims, methodology, programme and project initiatives developed by the participants.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
