SALTO in 2012 - doing very well!

Find a statistical overview of SALTO's activities and achievements in 2012: lots of courses, downloads, training resources and web visits.

The SALTO-YOUTH network of Resource Centres organised approximately XX activities in 2012 (courses, seminars, study visits, staff trainings), mostly in cooperation with NAs and other partners (124 in 2011, 81 in 2010). SALTO online application & selection procedure was used with most of those activities (easier access, greater transparency, more efficient course management). SALTO-YOUTH coordinated and co-organised further XX so called "network activities" (49 in 2011, 33 in 2010 = BTM, SOHO, TicTac, European Citizenship TCs, ToT, TOM, Appetiser,... - more explanation here), where on-line applications were used as always.

Web-site general

In 2012 there were 1'870'838 visits to the SALTO website www.salto-youth.net. This is an average 5'125 per day.

  • In 2011 we had an exceptional 2'456'385 visits and in 2010 there were 1'299'627 visits
  • (a visit is defined as one user arriving on one of our pages, till the user leaves the SALTO pages again. Within one visit a user can view several pages. A user can make several visits to our site - as registred by Urchin software).

Downloads

  • You downloaded in total over 8'105 different files in 2012 (10'210 in 2011, 9'465 in 2010) from the SALTO website.
  • There were 996'747 successful downloads in 2012 (1'428'336 in 2011, 592'846 in 2010).
  • This represents an amazing total of 2.08 Terabytes of data (996 Gb in 2011, 596 Gb in 2010).

European Training Calendar

  • You, the National Agencies and SALTO listed  279 activities activities in the European Training Calendar (212 in 2011, 193 in 2010).
  • There were 716'957 searches carried out in the Training calendar in 2012 = viewing the Search or Browse page, indicating a search (684'387 searches in 2011, 500'980 in 2010)

Otlas partnerfinding database

  • At the end of 2012, there were approximately 3100 organisations listed in Otlas who were looking for project partners.
  • You searched Otlas 401'898 times in 2012 = viewing the Search or Browse page, indicating a search (345'424 iin 2011)

Toolbox for Training

  • The Toolbox grew to a total of over 1112 useful trainer tools by the end of 2012 (1075 in 2011). There is a wide diversity of training methods, exercises, energisers, simulation games, publications, powerpoints, etc available.
  • You searched the Toolbox 160'855 times in 2012 (125'606 in 2011 and 131'754 in 2010) = visit to Search or Browse pages indicating a search.

Trainers Online for Youth

  • In 2012, SALTO increased the quality check of trainers. A reference person now has to validate the training references listed by the trainers in TOY. This resulted in a clean-up of the database and 295 experienced youth work trainers were listed in the TOY database end 2012.
  • You searched the TOY database 85'583 times in 2012 (120'090 in 2012, 78'948 in 2010) = visit to Search or Browse pages indicating a search.

SALTO Newsletter

The information via the 10 different SALTO Newsletters reaches between 8'000 and 12'000 readers per newsletter in 2012 (with the exception of the 2 newer newsletters) and new issues of the "Meet'In EuroMed", "SeeYOUth" and "YOUTHin7" magazines were published and distributed on a regular basis.

  • maybe you got one or more of the 49 newsletters in 2012 (32 in 2011) on one of the topics you can subscribe to: Inclusion, EuroMed (English or French), Cultural Diversity, Europe & Causasus, Youth Participation, South-East Europe, Tools, Recognition - or just the general SALTO news.
  • it is also possible to register for notifications when new Tools go online in the Toolbox or new Training activities in the Training Calendar: appr. 12'000 users receive new tool notifications (4032 in 2011) and 17'000 receive new training notifications (5724 in 2011).

At the end of 2012 we had 91'068 MySALTO users = with password for the SALTO site (65'017 in 2011, 51'200 in 2010). 36% are registered as Male, 34% Female.
