Online Applications for Training Activites

SALTO has created the possibility to apply online for activities from the European Training Calendar. Read more on how this works.

How does the Online Application work?

  1. Find a course you want to apply to e.g. in the European Training Calendar or via www.salto-youth.net/courses/ and follow the link to the online application
  2. Login with your SALTO username and password - NEW SALTO users can create a new SALTO profile
  3. Fill in the form
    - either in different sessions = Save Drafts
    - when the form is complete you Submit the application
    - only fully submitted applications will be accepted (not the drafts).
  4. The applicant will receive an automatic confirmation email
  5. You can change the application till the Application Deadline (mentioned in the course description and on top of the application form).

Via a link in the European Training Calendar or from a different SALTO web page, you can go to an online application form for a training activity. Log in with your SALTO user name and password (or create one, if you don't have one yet). Fill in the form and submit it - simple!

It goes without saying that this system has a lot of benefits:

  • It uses the same SALTO user name & password which you have for the other SALTO functionalities (MySALTO, Newsletter subscriptions, Toolbox, TOY, Training Calendar, ...)
  • You can Save intermediate drafts of application forms and continue to complete and Submit the form at a later stage - no need to answer all the questions in one go
  • Your application is directly submitted to the SALTO database without need for scrambled faxes or missing / incompatible / heavy attachments in e-mails
  • You receive an automatic confirmation or reminder e-mail about your application(s) on the SALTO site to the e-mail address of you we have on file
  • You can modify/correct your application data (answers to the application form) till the Application Deadline of the activity in question - you can change your personal data (address, e-mail, telephone, etc.) via www.salto-youth.net/mySALTO/
  • Applicants can copy & paste from previous applications (e.g. the organisational information, etc.) - find all your current and past applications via www.salto-youth.net/mySALTO/

The Pre-Selection of participants

SALTO cooperates closely with the National Agencies of the YOUTH in Action programme. The SALTO courses are designed to support the NAs in their training and inclusion strategies, so it is vital that the NAs pre-select the participants to training courses, according to the possibilities for cooperation and follow up after the courses. (and of course the NAs know the candidates from their country best)

  1. After the Application Deadline for a course, the NAs have access to all applicants from their country to read and print the applications.
  2. The NAs puts the candidates in a priority list in function of their strategy and available budget (mostly NAs pay the travel costs for their selected participants)
  3. After the Pre-Selection Deadline, the organisers of the course then allocate the available places (according to gender balance, geographical provenance or experience) in line with NA's priorities.

And this is how an applicant gets on the courses...

PS: Applicants from countries outside the YOUTH programme will be considered by SALTO directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

This part is under construction! Send us your questions!

  • What is the difference between Save and Submit? When your application form is not complete (some answers to mandatory questions in bold are missing), you can only Save a draft of your application. You need to continue to complete your application form before the deadline for applications of the activity. When your application form is complete, you can submit it. It is only when you have submitted your fully completed application that it will be taken into account.
  • Where can I find my previous Application forms? You have access to all your application forms via www.salto-youth.net/mySALTO/. You will find your previous applications, your incomplete applications and your submitted applications. This is handy in case you want to copy and paste information from previous applications.
  • Can I apply only once? Every user name can only apply one time for every application form - so it is not possible to let someone else apply for an activity via your SALTO account or user name. The application is automatically linked to your user data (name, contact details, address, etc.) from the SALTO database. You can check and change this user data when logging in to www.salto-youth.net/mySALTO/ and clicking on 'Change Your Details'.
  • Can I use SALTO's Online Application procedure? For the time being, only SALTO Resource Centres and National Agencies can use the online application system for their activities.
