TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
http://trainers.salto-youth.net/IsmailSehic/
My story with non-formal education started in a quite early stage of my life. My first volunteering experience was a moment I got a grasp of a totally different world of knowledge transfer. I took my first step when I was 12 years old, as a part of Red Cross, world-renowned non-governmental organization. This was a turning point for me in term of active involvement in my surroundings and society in general.
Ismail Sehic has 14 references for past work as a trainer.
Director of BRAVO
My journey starts from Srebrenica where l was born and made my first steps. Having a history as a part of my identity, I was inspired to change the world with my own way of thinking. I have discovered that the world is as big as the number of people you meet and share that world with.
Trying to work on peacebuilding and reconciliation was very hard and still it is, but I was motivated as a young person by getting an award for the best young leader in the Europe 2013 delegated from European Commission and 2014 for peacebuilding and reconciliation from the city council.
As for my journey into the world of innovations and startups, throughout my studies, I was continuously interested in innovations and different points of view on industry and production. That was one of the reasons why I decided to start studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, department for constructions. Through the whole process of studying, I was keen to work on different projects connected with constructions and innovations. My first meaningful experience was in Amman, Jordan, where I worked at the Jordanian Youth Innovation Forum. lt is a great institution, with over 100 employed and 1,000+ people using the institutions' services. After that, I worked in Turkey on the design and innovation of new tunnels for cities and underground buildings. The following project was my first bigger project – my innovation of a “water pump” at the Riga Technical University. During my studies at RTU, l had an opportunity to spend a lot of time in laboratories where l was able to conduct research about innovations and new projects all around the world.
At the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) I received professional education about Industry 4.0 where l had a chance to work with the 20 biggest German companies on new projects and innovation. l attended many conferences and training, which made a significant contribution to me becoming an expert in the field of innovations.
As I have mentioned before, my active participation in Youth Projects started back in 2011., both as a participant and trainer. In the summer of 2012., I got an amazing opportunity to participate in a project/training for trainers, and that’s when I got my trainers license. That made me strive for more, so I continued to participate in a wide range of projects as a participant and trainer.
My main focus lies in several fields but it is mostly related to creative projects, sports, human rights, gender equality, inclusion and so on. Especially, I am interested in work with people with disabilities related to which I have done an EVS in 2016., in Turkey. So far, I was a trainer in more than 10 European and non-European countries where I had a chance to work with different groups of people. Regarding my current professional background, I would like to point out that I am the director of BRAVO ( Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities), president of Sector for International Cooperation in Red Cross, specifically in charge of international projects and international volunteers. Besides that, I also work as an International Project Officer in Jordanian Youth Innovation Forum, in charge of cooperation and partnership with European organizations.
