Gender Equality - Is it Reality?

Aims & objectives

This training had three basic aims:
- To gather youth workers from different countries who will organize and run campaign against hate speech and fight for gender equality
- To educate them about basics in human rights, hate speech, misuse of power, gender based violence, nationalism, racism and discrimination, as well as social exclusion and all other consequences caused by it. They learned how it’s shared on line and off line. As opposite we presented human rights and reasons for respect right to live without any fear, hate and exclusion. We ensured that each participant become sensitive about how much all need and deserve human rights no matter what and how much hate speech and discrimination are dangerous for health, peace and overall welling of human race and European society.
- This international activity offered participants the opportunity to learn about the gender equality, especially focusing on the problem of gender-based violence. Another aspect of training was the basic techniques for concept photo and illustrations and how to use these methods for a social change in the field of gender equality and promotion of the same.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

On this training participated Youth workers and youth from Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Greece, Armenia, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia who were willing to learn and share knowledge about human rights, gender equality and hate speech.

Training methods used & main activities

This training was based on presenting and showing to public problem with gender balance/equality in many segments of life, about human rights, hate speech, etc.
During this training we were using creative methods of Education such as: photography, graphics, music and dance. Through this creative methods Youth Workers had opportunity to learn how to use different kind of tools and methods to present and educate other about this problem.

Outcomes of the activity

The main point of training was that participants get knowledge how to use this methods as way of education and later on to organize in their countries small events and activities with people from their society and country.
After training and during 2016 organizations and youth workers from this countries gather and include more than 4000 people all around. That was our idea and achievements.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My task on this training as trainer was to lead creative workshops about photography together with one more trainer. From beginning of training we separate works and in morning participants get education and statistics from Europe about this issue, at afternoon we were working on creative methods with them.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
