Aims & objectives

- Complementing the process if methodological empowerment if participants by means if providing the letter with awareness, knowledge, skills and methodological in contrasting gender-based hate speech in new media
- Developing participants’ understanding and educational capacities to address the interconnectedness between gender-based hate speech and hate speech against migrant and refugee categories
- Producing a comprehensive methodological approach for youth organizations across the CoE area to contrast the dimensions of hate speech related to migrant/refugee and gender discrimination through all-encompassing educational researches embracing the interconnectedness among the letter phenomena
- Designing an awareness-raising and educational effort grounded in new media action and direct youth education targeted at fostering awareness youth and stakeholders’ awareness about ni hate speech principles in the frame of gender and refugee issues, the interconnectedness among the letter frames and active engagement in contrasting hate speech phenomena in a comprehensive fashion.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This TC gather 26 participants (youth workers and youth activists) from 23 countries all around the world. Participants represent next countries: Argentina, Uganda, Italy, Spain, Romania, Netherlands, Greece, Slovenia, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Bulgaria, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Malta, Slovak Republic.

Training methods used & main activities

At this TC we were using "storage" of Salto Youth tools and activities. We were trying to use as much as we can and connect them with our topic. Some of methods and activities we did are:
- Presenting best practices of direct initiatives in the frame of new media (with a particular focus on Social Media) spearheaded by youth NGOs for the purposes of fighting gender-based hate speech in the new media frame.
- Introducing participants to the tool “Changing the Game” from the EYF sponsored educational resource Bookmarks Manual with a view to providing participants with an experiential introduction to the topic of online campaigning against gender-based hate speech.
- Elaborating concrete methodologies to spread awareness about gender-based hate speech as well as the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to contrast it among young people.

Outcomes of the activity

-Knowledge of new media initiatives developed by youth NGOs to fight gender-based hate speech in the frame of new media.

- Enhanced attitudes of proactive engagement in raising awareness about and directly contrasting hate speech against women through action in the new media frame, acquired through the inspirational potential of success stories

- Skills in devising online Campaigns to address specific issues of gender-based hate speech in new media environments.

- Attitudes of cooperation and team-work in an international environment.

- Skills of devising NFE tools and approaches to fight hate speech dynamics against women on new media through direct education of youngsters.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was the main trainer of the group of 4 trainers. My responsibility was to lead session mostly connected with Hate Speech and Salto Youth and other manuals and tools to provide good knowledge. Other three trainers were covering other activities and assist me if it was needed.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
