Youth worker & Trainer
I want to say something nice and appealing about myself here. ...but in my culture it could be considered somewhat arrogant to do so.
Antti Korhonen has 9 references for past work as a trainer.
International youth work coordinator / Freelance trainer
My roots to the training field rest in personally experiencing and digesting loads of (structured) learning mobility whilst growing up. Free-lancing and volunteering have been an obvious way to build on that experience for me. Since I was 20 I've worked on-goingly in various organisations and projects around Finland, supporting groups and projects mostly focusing on topics of activating youth, supporting learning processes and quality of (international) youth work. Implementing training activities and working in teams (nationally and internationally) has became comfortable, as well as being confident with cooperating with NAs (Finnish trainer pool since 2008). Nowadays I put this experience in to practice coordinating and implementing international youth work for the Finnish Youth Centres, and as a self-employed trainer in my own name.
As mentioned, my professionalism comes mostly from practice, yet I'm a firm believer in "praxis" which has lead also to studies in the University of Eastern Finland (Kuopio), majoring in Social Pedagogy (BA), supported by social psychology, educational science and sociology.
On the non-formal side of things, i've been fortunate to enter multiple short- and long-term processes to gain competence in the field i'm working in. I have over a 100 full project cycles under my belt in various roles (youth worker, coordinator, trainer, facilitator), which I consider also having been quite educational and showing my active engagement in such learning processes of non-formal education.
