TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
http://trainers.salto-youth.net/MatiaLosego/
I do believe that one cannot be a Human Rights educator from 9am to 5pm and my approach to education explores the ‘me as a person’ dimension. With these things in mind I’m juggling with being a freelancer trainer, a storyteller, a wannabe super-illustrator and a dad of 2!
Matia Losego has 4 references for past work as a trainer.
Freelancer trainer
I am active in the youth field since 2000 and I have joined the dark side of being a youth worker with the local youth NGO Dínamo in 2011.
In my background, I combine local work on youth participation and experiences in Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education with young people and educators. Among other things, In Dínamo I was responsible for the coordination of translations of Council of Europe publications into Portuguese languages including Compass, Have Your Say! and Bookmarks. Since 2016 I am a member of Rede Inducar and, with it, I was working in 2016-2017 as educational adviser in the local Human Rights Education Programme SOMOS by the Municipality of Lisbon.
Now, I am a freelance trainer specialized in Human Rights Education, Democracy, Youth Participation and Social Inclusion, working with different youth organizations and other relevant stakeholders, such as the Portuguese Erasmus+ Youth in Action National Agency and the Youth Department of Council of Europe.
I am also a board member of the European network DARE – Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe and a member of the European Training Strategy Advisory Group by the European Commission.
One important milestone in my educational background is the Training of Trainers in Human Rights Education [2013-2014] by the Youth Department, which opened the door to Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education. Another one is the Training of Trainers for European Erasmus+: Youth in Action Projects [2016-2017] by SALTO Training and Cooperation RC, which allowed me to dive into the ETS Competence Model for Trainers and made me think on the balance between experiential learning and self-directed learning in my practices.
Along the years, I also joined other trainings from different organizations and met people, colleagues and friends who [consciously or unconsciously] contributed to my learning path.
On the formal sector, I have a University degree in Social Cultural Community Development by Lisbon School of Education, with a specialization in Intercultural Mediation.
