GEYC

Group of the European Youth for Change (GEYC) is a Romanian youth organisation founded in 2010, active at national and European level. GEYC empowers young people to actively shape democratic, inclusive, and sustainable societies through education, participation, and innovation.

GEYC coordinates the PRISMA European Network, a Europe-wide coalition of youth organisations working to increase the quality, impact, and sustainability of youth work and Erasmus+ projects. Since 2023, GEYC holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Our work is structured around three complementary portfolios:
-> Youth Empowerment
-> Future Skills
-> Sustainability

Through these, we promote youth participation, human rights education, digital citizenship, social and green entrepreneurship, STEAM education, climate justice, and wellbeing, with a strong focus on inclusion and access for young people with fewer opportunities.

GEYC implements educational, intercultural, and research-based activities such as trainings, youth exchanges, conferences, study visits, campaigns, and publications. We combine peer-to-peer education, non-formal learning, digital tools, and advocacy to support young people, youth workers, and educators.

Our permanent initiatives include a national youth community of over 11,000 Romanian-speaking young people and educators, the GEYC Resources Center for digital and media literacy, and EDU@GEYC.RO, a network of over 130 schools and 100 teachers supporting digital citizenship, diversity, and critical thinking in education.

GEYC works in close partnership with European institutions and international networks, including the European Parliament Liaison Office and the European Commission Representation in Romania, and is a member of networks such as SALTO Youth, Anna Lindh Foundation, CIVICUS, New European Bauhaus, and the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs.

GEYC’s activities are delivered by a professional team of staff and collaborators and are guided by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, ensuring quality management and environmental responsibility.
