The YOUth Roots Handbook for Youth Workers is a practical handbook developed within the Erasmus+ project YOUth Roots: Nurturing Rural Entrepreneurship. It provides youth workers, trainers and organisations with educational content and practical resources to facilitate non-formal learning activities on rural entrepreneurship.
The handbook combines theoretical background with practical learning materials that can be adapted to different training contexts. It is designed to support facilitators in planning and delivering workshops, training courses and mentoring activities for young people interested in developing entrepreneurial ideas in rural areas.
The publication includes:
An introduction to the project and the rural entrepreneurship context
Role model stories and examples from rural entrepreneurs
Learning modules covering entrepreneurial mindset, sustainable entrepreneurship, business planning, marketing, community engagement, networking, grant writing and fundraising
Practical exercises, reflection activities and worksheets
Additional resources for further learning and exploration
The handbook can be used as a complete training resource or as a reference for designing individual learning sessions. Its flexible structure allows facilitators to adapt the content to different groups, learning objectives and local contexts while encouraging active participation and experiential learning.
By combining practical activities with non-formal education methodologies, the manual supports youth workers in helping young people develop entrepreneurial competences and transform ideas into sustainable rural initiatives.
