This guideline highlights the youth capacity building project YIPPEE—Youth in Progress and Partnership for Equality and Exchange—ways in which Digital Storytelling can be applied within differing social and ecological contexts.
The aim of this guideline is to provide an overview of the YIPPEE project, in which various organizations collaborated to reach disenfranchised youths and increase intercultural dialogue concerning sustainability and development. As an overview of the project, the guideline provides users with an understanding of how the Digital Storytelling methodology can be implemented within the educational setting and empower youths through the introduction of technological competences and interpersonal skills.
In providing an overview of the YIPPEE project and experiential accounts of the workshops and dissemination events, the guideline enables users to garner an understanding of the Digital Storytelling methodology and how it may be implemented when addressing a variety of topics. The guideline provides details concerning the scheduling of workshops, in addition to the evaluation process, in order to give users an understanding of how the results can be modified to suit various needs within the educational setting. The guideline addresses the ways in which Digital Storytelling supplements youth competences, thus allowing the user to evaluate its use outside of the contexts of the Sustainable Development Goals and adjust as he/she sees fit.
