The booklet "We Frame The Change - Stories of Civic Activism" is an inspirational material that brings together the voices of 30 young people from five European countries: Romania, Lithuania, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.
The Erasmus+ project “We Frame The Change” (2024-3-RO01-KA152-YOU-000272515) started from a simple but powerful premise: art, and especially photography, can be a bridge between the desire to act and the public that young people want to mobilize for change. Through the photovoice method, participants learned to observe the problems in their communities, to document them artistically, and to transform them into compelling stories.
This booklet brings together ten authentic stories of young people who have discovered the power of active citizenship. The material aims to inspire other young people to follow these examples.
This inspirational brochure is a collection of 10 powerful stories of civic engagement, documented by young people from Romania, Lithuania, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy during the Erasmus+ exchange "We Frame The Change". Using the photovoice method, the material highlights how art and visual storytelling can transform personal frustrations regarding community issues—such as pollution, lack of youth spaces, or social exclusion—into creative catalysts for change. Each page serves as a testament to the fact that you don't need to be a politician or a leader to make a difference; you just need the courage to "frame" a problem and take the first step toward a solution.
The brochure is designed as a motivational tool for youth workers and young activists across Europe, showcasing diverse examples of grassroots initiatives: from reclaiming a local football field to organizing beach cleanups or supporting vulnerable children. Beyond documenting these actions, the material captures the personal growth of the participants, who gained the confidence to use their voices and artistic skills to inspire their peers. Its core message is a call to action for every young person: "Don't wait for permission to do good!"
