Manual
A practical toolkit featuring 38 theatre-based lessons in 8 learning blocks to strengthen confidence, communication, teamwork and employability skills among unemployed adults and NEETs through experiential and non-formal learning.
The TTRUE Toolkit aims to support the personal empowerment, social inclusion and employability of unemployed adults and NEETs through participatory, theatre-based learning.
Its specific aims are to:
- Strengthen self-confidence, self-expression and motivation.
- Develop transversal skills relevant to personal, social and professional life.
- Encourage communication, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving.
- Support participants in recognising and transferring their existing and newly developed competences.
- Provide educators and facilitators with an accessible, adaptable methodology for working with people facing barriers to employment.
The TTRUE Toolkit is a practical educational resource developed within the Erasmus+ project Theatre Training for the Re-activation of Unemployed People.
It introduces theatre-based learning as an inclusive, experiential methodology for supporting unemployed adults and young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs).
The toolkit contains 38 lessons organised into 8 progressive learning blocks, combining social theatre, improvisation, collaborative creation, practical exercises and guided reflection.
The learning process progresses from building trust and overcoming personal barriers to developing communication, teamwork, creativity, decision-making, emotional awareness and collective responsibility.
Through participation, learners are encouraged to:
- Communicate more confidently and express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.
- Collaborate effectively with others in group activities.
- Demonstrate creativity, adaptability and problem-solving skills.
- Develop emotional awareness and interpersonal competences.
- Strengthen initiative, self-confidence and active participation.
- Identify transferable skills and reflect on their relevance to employment and everyday life.
No previous theatre experience or artistic skills are required. The emphasis is on participation, personal development and reflection rather than artistic performance.
The toolkit can be implemented as a complete learning pathway or adapted through individual lessons and training blocks to meet different learning needs and organisational contexts.
Activities may culminate in a collective creative output, such as short theatre scenes, storytelling or a performance, although the learning process remains the primary objective.
