Background Text, Manual
A comprehensive trilingual (EN/IT/RO) reference tool linking filmmaking, cinematography, film scoring, sound design, and generative AI to empower young creators and educators in audio-visual production
The main aims of this tool are:
- To establish a shared, technical vocabulary across English, Italian, and Romanian for filmmaking, visual composition, film scoring, and sound design.
- To bridge cinema production techniques with music composition, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and modern generative AI tools.
- To foster international cooperation and clear communication among youth workers, educators, and young artists in cross-border audio-visual projects.
- To provide a practical, accessible educational resource that enhances technical literacy in film and music production.
This tool is a comprehensive, trilingual (English, Italian, Romanian) educational glossary developed to bridge the gap between visual storytelling, music production, and modern technologies in international youth work.
The glossary provides detailed definitions and technical terminology divided into 10 structured sections:
1. Visual Composition, Static Shots & Camera Angles
2. Light Setups & Lighting Patterns
3. Camera Movements & Dynamic Framing
4. Color Theory & Visual Moods
5. Screenwriting, Storyboarding & Treatment
6. Film Scoring & Cinematic Music Terminology
7. Sound Design & Foley
8. DAW Fundamentals & Signal Processing (Logic Pro focus)
9. Virtual Instruments & Sample Libraries (EastWest focus)
10. Generative AI & Prompt Engineering (Suno & MusicFX focus)
Learning Outcomes:
- Technical Competence: Participants gain a clear understanding of professional technical terms across film, audio engineering, and AI music workflows.
- Cross-Border Communication: Enables seamless collaboration in multilingual and international youth projects by providing exact equivalents in English, Italian, and Romanian.
- Interdisciplinary Integration: Helps young filmmakers understand music composition and guides sound designers and composers in speaking the visual language of directors.
- Innovation Literacy: Demystifies prompt engineering for generative AI audio platforms, teaching young creatives how to integrate modern AI tools into traditional creative workflows.
