Exercise
A set of 26 working methods and activities that mentors and other support-persons in ESC projects can use in different phases of the mentoring relationship, depending on their needs and the particular moment in their educational-emotional process.
This publication contains useful information related to the mentoring processes in European cross-border volunteering projects, as well as several tools created to help all those engaged in supporting volunteers - those who we call support
-persons, including the mentors - in their activities with the European volunteers, in different phases of their projects.
The methods are structured in 4 categories of support: building a positive relationship with the project team, personal, emotional support and well being, problem-solving and support for personal development and the learning process. Besides the methods and tools included in this practical toolbox and guide, users can find a few case studies based on mentors’ real experiences, but also some clarifications regarding the support-role as project partners understand it, alongside information on short-term mentoring processes and some practical advice for mentors.
