In 2022 the Erasmus+ training course "Be Enterprising - fostering entrepreneurial attitude in youngsters", organised by the Croatian office for Creativity and Innovation was held in Croatia. The result is a toolkit for youth workers.

Aims of the tool

The aim of the toolkit is to give youth workers the tools needed for spreading awareness about entrepreneurship, as well as to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of youngsters with whom they work.

Description of the tool

There is a clear need to step out of the frame of career guidance and promote entrepreneurial thinking, and motivate young people to use a creative approach for implementing their skills and passion in becoming self-employed or entrepreneurs. Youth workers and youth organisation leaders play a key role in fostering those attitudes and skills.

But often youth workers do not have the necessary knowledge and tools for fostering entrepreneurial attitudes in young people. As we see from successful businesses, they incorporate a creative approach and thinking of not only generating income but innovating and driving society forward.

The project is linked to fostering quality improvements in youth work when it comes to promoting youth entrepreneurship. After the end of the project, a toolkit with several different tools for spreading knowledge about entrepreneurship was created.

The toolkit consists of:
- brief information about promoting entrepreneurship
- presentation with opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills through various Erasmus+ projects
- three non-formal activities in the form of games and simulations: Pitch Perfect, Copper Bottomed, Shokkinopoly
- 4 tools for entrepreneurial self-reflection: Empathy Map, Scamper, Wheel of life, Ikigai

Through these activities, participants will:
- improve their creative thinking and pitching skills
- practice brainstorming product
- understand and practice basic managerial decisions of a company
- learn about various ways a company can increase their social impact
- practice managing simple accounting of a small business
- learn about the cycle of the company from the idea to the execution in a short period of time
- learn how to generate new ideas and improve the existing ones
- find a sense of purpose
- foster entrepreneurial attitude in general.
