The ROOT Solution Tool is a participatory framework designed to transform shared concerns into concrete, actionable responses. It supports youth groups, educators, and organizations in moving from reflection to collective action through a structured yet flexible methodology.
Inspired by the Ikigai model, the tool places a shared problem at the center and explores it through four interconnected dimensions: Find Out More, Act Directly, Understand via Cooperation, and Transform. This approach combines critical thinking, experiential learning, and creative processes to develop realistic and context-sensitive solutions.
The tool can be used independently or as a follow-up to the Consultation Tool, creating a full pathway from listening to acting. It encourages participants to connect their personal skills, values, and emotions with collective strategies, fostering agency, resilience, and collaboration.
Adaptable to different contexts (schools, youth work, NGOs), the Solution Tool promotes bottom-up change, local action, and care-centered approaches, empowering young people to navigate complexity and actively shape more just and sustainable futures.
