Exercise
A 3-hour workshop (approximately) on critical thinking, media & politics. The workshop consists of 3 activities which may be used separately.
To raise awareness of post-truth media.
To improve critical thinking.
To show that the same facts can be presented from different perspectives.
To give people knowledge and motivation to take action against the ideologies and methods of a post-truth society.
This workshop has been created by a group of 30 young people, who took part in a 7-day Erasmus+ youth exchange in Lisbon in October 2017.
The aim of the exchange was to discuss current affairs (media and politics), critical thinking and youth participation. The group believes that the only way to combat the post-truth political era is to work on developing the critical and analytical thinking skills within society and by promoting freedom of press.
During their time in Lisbon, the participants gained a lot of knowledge, which now they would like to share with other youngsters. The participants found out that the learning process is all about discussion, brainstorming and sharing our experiences on the given topic and did their best to reflect that in the workshop.
