Short training sessions aiming to raise the appetite and awareness for non-formal education.
Street Training is a training format on a very specific topic. Typical topics: "Active Listening", Individual versus Team Work", "What is Non-Formal Education?" etc.
Let's take the example of "Active Listening". The Street Training Format would look like this:
0. Follow the leader: One person goes into the crows with a loud speaker repeating regularly: "Follow me!" The person has to be very convincing. Usually it takes 5-15 minutes to form a 10-20 people queue of followers. The leader takes the group to the training spot, turns around and asks the people: "Why did you follow me?" (optional) A short debriefing plus an invitation to the Street training course is required. Alternatively you can gather people to the course by appointment, invitation, list etc.
1.(5') - Intro & explanation
2.(5-10') Name Game
3.(5-10') Energizer (choose an energizer that does not takes participants out of their confort zones. If participants are of a higher age, choose an eye opener instead on energizer.
4. (15-20') The course content. On active listening you can use the Youang-Tze and Huang he family game. Please look for a detailed description before using it. The game should take 5-10', the debriefing should take 10-15'.
5.(5-10') Diploma awarding + Closure (feed-back, how did you like it?, thanks for participating, group picture etc)
