This handbook is for trainers to deliver them key facts on gender issues to be prepared for training with young people
-To deliver key facts on the gender situation in the participating countries of Sharanani project (Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Ireland)

This Handbook provides basic information on the gender status quo in different european coutries and also do a comparison between the countries regarding gender equality and stereotyping. It will serve youth workers as basic information tool for activities aiming to reduce stereotyping amongst young people and contributing to more gender equality. It may show that ’pictures” we consider as normal in one country might not be in another, that there are cultural and social differences, who promote or hinder equal chances. Not only related to religion but also to cultural heritages or social roles or choice of profession.
Impact: It will help youth workers to show up different ways to act, different role and life models and give information on facts of gender equality for the following relating trainings.
Overall objective of the Shanarani project: this project aims to develop innovative tools to combat gender stereotypes and inequalities among young people, training youth organizations in new approaches to support and strengthen their work with young people, improving their skills in the area of gender and equality, increasing the quality of the intervention with young people.
To achieve the project goals, we will produce the following results/ intellectual outcomes:
