A collection of practical tools, including icebreakers, activities and evaluation tools organised in 10 new session plans dealing with challenging and hot issues less treated in existing resources for youth work.

Aims of the tool

To provide a means for youth work educators, trainers and practitioners that will support further the development of youth work practice that is inclusive, diverse and which promotes equality of opportunities.
To provide youth workers with practical tools promoting the principles of inclusion, diversity and equality.
To engage the youth workers in the promotion of these values.
To tackle hot and challenging issues and provide support to different target groups of young people.

Description of the tool

RIDE - Practice Resource was developed within RIDE project co-funded by Erasmus+ and contains a variety of practical tools for youth work.

The RIDE Practice Resource intends to provide youth workers with variety of practical tools organised
in 10 thematical session plans. Each session plan begins with overview of the aims, target group and
resources needed. Then follow the topic introduction, relevant statistics and data overview for all
partner countries and set of non-formal activities and evaluation methods.

The session plans deal with topics less treated in existing resources including also challenging and hot
issues concerning social media, hate speech, radicalisation and extremism. Other sessions are
dedicated to young people living in rural areas, the reinforcement of young people’s with mental
disorders self-esteem and projecting future of NEET young people whose numbers are disturbingly
high in some European countries. Non-formal activities included in the session plans are also designed
to raise youngsters’ awareness of economic differences, migration, unemployment or disabilities.
Further attention is also paid to the encouragement of interfaith dialogue and promoting
understanding of cultural diversity.

The resourse was developed within RIDE project. RIDE stands for resources for Inclusion, Diversity and Equality and it is a two-year project funded by Erasmus+ European Fund establishing a network of partners who share a common vision and understanding of quality youth work practice and providing youth workers with a comprehensive Toolbox of practice resources implementing principles of inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities.
