Simulation Exercise

To develop critical thinking and media literacy by immersing participants in a simulated social media environment. The tool helps youth understand the mechanics of viral content, recognize manipulation techniques (like clickbait and FOMO), practice verifying information, and reflect on the consequences of their digital decisions and online behavior.
NEXUS RISE (Influence House) is an engaging educational LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) simulation designed for youth, bringing them directly into the fast-paced world of internet creators, viral content, and online drama. Instead of traditional lectures, participants learn through hands-on gameplay, developing critical thinking, media literacy, and cooperation skills by navigating the complexities of social media.
During the game, participants step into the shoes of lifestyle, gaming, or fitness influencers, or join investigative tabloid portals acting as internet detectives. They negotiate contracts, build their online popularity, publish content, and make strategic decisions under pressure. However, the in-game digital landscape is full of hidden traps - such as scams, clickbait, and psychological manipulation - teaching players how to spot fake news, recognize algorithmic pressures, and protect themselves against online deception.
