Manual
The Erasmus+ project Mental Matters brought together organisations from Germany, Finland and Portugal to exchange knowledge and develop practical tools for youth workers supporting young people experiencing mental health challenges.
The aim of this tool is to support youth workers and organisations working with young people experiencing mental health challenges by sharing practical methods, good practices and reflections collected during an international Erasmus+ cooperation project.
It also aims to inspire organisations to implement non-formal learning activities that promote well-being, peer support and social inclusion.
During the project, youth workers visited partner organisations through job shadowing activities and explored how different organisations support young people facing mental health difficulties.
These visits allowed youth workers to observe activities, exchange experiences and reflect on how different approaches can be adapted in their own organisations.
This e-book includes:
• Good practices from Germany, Finland and Portugal
• Learning journals written by youth workers during the exchanges
• Insights into volunteering and peer support
• Reflections on working with young people experiencing mental health challenges
Learning outcomes of the tool include:
• Increased understanding of how non-formal education can support mental health
• Inspiration for youth workers to implement new activities and methods
• Practical examples of peer support and volunteering initiatives
• Reflection on the learning process during international exchanges
The Ebook is available in both English and can be downloaded in the "Available downloads" section.
