Ice-breaker, Name Game/Get to know each other
This tool will facilitate the initial presentation of the participants, supporting the group to focus on names, Country of origin and some further information on the other involved participants.
- Facilitation of the initial knowledge among the participants
- Creation of a climate of mutual listening
- Creation of the appropriate environment to implement some name-games.
You should prepare a large map of Europe on which the participating Countries to the youth exchange/training course have a greater emphasis (for example by painting them each one in a different colour while the other European Counties are just white).
Distribute to each participant a post-it and a pen and tell the group to write their name on it and make a drawing on it, if they would like, with something representative of themselves. Then, one by one, they should go closer to the map and say their name, where are they from and something else about themselves (what do they do in their life, how old are they etc.) and they should stick their post-it on the Country where they come from.
