'Learning Process' is an OER and digital tool to support the learning process of participants with intellectual disabilities in a mobility project.
[PR.I.M.E. Tool]

Aims of the tool

To answer the difficulty of support young people with intellectual disabilities in their learning process, especially during a mobility project (ESC volunteering, Youth Exchange, and so on), PR.I.M.E. created an OER digital tool with a gamified approach, to help project staff to support their participants during the learning process.
It facilitates the establishment of learning goals, the recording of the actions done, the reflection and recognition of the competences developed, helping also in the filling of official recognition documents, like the YouthPass certificate.

Description of the tool

'Learning Process' is a digital tool that can be accessed through the PR.I.M.E. platform: https://prime-platform.eu/oer2-phase-1-select/

Participants, together with their accompanying persons or youth workers, will be supported in the learning process through different stages:

STEP 1: Selection of the Actions
It is presented more than 60 daily-life actions (through photos and short description), mostly connected with the actions participants can do during a mobility project, focusing on soft and transversal skills (not technical).
It is proposed that, BEFORE the mobility or right at the beginning, participants choose between 5 to 10 actions that they never did or they would like to develop during their mobility.
Those actions will be the learning goals for that mobility.

STEP 2: Recording of the Actions
After establishing the goals, the step 2 of the tool will make visible only the selected actions (to reduce confusion). The proposal is that, every day or with a frequency adapted to the participant's needs, DURING the mobility, to access the tool and register which actions the participant did in that day.
The participant can select if the action was done 'alone' or 'with help', to register also the level of autonomy.

STEP 3: Results
In the end of the mobility (this option is also available during the mobility as monitoring strategy), participants will get a visual graphic with their development.
The graphic shows the COMPETENCES that the participant developed. The Competences are the same that can be find in the YouthPass, for example.
To have better understanding on the development process, the participant can click on the Competence developed and see which Actions contributed to the development of that specific competence, how many times he/she did it, and the level of autonomy.
The participant can also request to receive an email with a PDF report of the results.
If the participant goes to another mobility project and wants to start a new 'learning process' with new learning goals, it can reset its results (always receiving the report by email) and start again a new journey.

This tool helps the mentor, accompanying person, youth worker, to support the participant with intellectual disabilities in the learning process, by establishing learning goals (through concrete actions), keep the record of the actions done and the autonomy level, and to have an overview of the development, connecting the concrete actions to the competences on the YouthPass. It is a tool that promotes reflection and dialogue with the participant about the learning outcomes, and supports filling in the YouthPass certificate.

For further support with the YouthPass and the Learning Process, PR.I.M.E. has additional tools that may support with that:
- document in Easy-to-Read that supports the understanding of the YouthPass and the Key competences 'All Abouth YouthPass': https://prime-platform.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/ETR_All_about_Youthpass.pdf
- document in Easy-to-Read that supports the filling of the YouthPass certificate: https://prime-platform.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/ETR_Youthpass_Certificate_editable_PDF.pdf
- Online Training about Learning Process: https://youtu.be/hbJtfpIgabM?si=DlfPjDsAeSftdQSf

(Note: in the PR.I.M.E. platform you can also find the ETR documents in Word version, so you can translate them in your participant's language).
