An open, multilingual AI learning toolkit for young people and youth workers, combining 30 guided AI tools, five hands-on modules, a self-paced SPOOC and a 216-resource PLE to build digital skills, critical thinking and responsible AI use.

Aims of the tool

The EYZEN AI Learning Toolkit aims to:

improve the AI literacy and digital competences of young people;
help participants select and use appropriate AI tools for learning, creativity, communication and employment-related tasks;
strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and independent learning;
support youth workers and trainers in integrating AI into non-formal education;
promote safe, ethical and responsible AI use, including data protection, copyright, consent, bias awareness and information verification;
provide an accessible, multilingual and self-paced learning environment, particularly for young people with fewer opportunities.

Description of the tool

EYZEN is an open and adaptable learning toolkit developed for non-formal youth education. It combines a curated panel of 30 AI tools organised into six thematic categories, written and video tutorials, a five-module hands-on training programme, a self-paced SPOOC and a Symbaloo-based Personal Learning Environment containing 216 linked AI resources.

Participants explore artificial intelligence through practical tasks such as generating and editing images, producing short videos, preparing presentations, summarising information, writing effective prompts and comparing AI-generated outputs.

By completing the learning activities, participants are expected to:

understand the basic capabilities and limitations of artificial intelligence;
select suitable AI tools according to a defined learning or production goal;
create, assess and improve digital content;
write more effective prompts;
verify AI-generated information and identify possible misinformation;
protect personal data and respect copyright, consent and intellectual property;
recognise bias and ethical risks;
develop a personalised and self-directed learning pathway.

Youth workers can deliver the toolkit as five structured training sessions or adapt individual activities for workshops, focus groups, seminars and online learning. The materials are accessible through the EYZEN website and are designed as Open Educational Resources under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA licence.
