Aims of the tool

The Health Literacy Toolkit of Resources aims to foster Health Literacy skills, competences and attitudes in the daily life of young people, by facilitate access to audio-visual health information and improve their availability, while providing embedded learning opportunities.

Description of the tool

User-friendly Health Literacy Toolkit of Resources to foster Health Literacy skills, competences and attitudes in the daily life of young people, by facilitating the access to audiovisual health information and improve their availability, while providing embedded learning opportunities. The main topics of the Health Literacy Toolkit of Resources are: (1) Digital Health Information & Social Media; and (2) Health Communication in Health Care Services.
The resources are built on Comics, Video Storytelling and Info-graphics. The resources were developed in English, German, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian with comics and info-graphics additionally in French, Arabic, Ukrainian and Farsi.
Comics and Info-graphics were developed for immediate dissemination and included topics/questions/challenges, which migrants/refugees are facing in the host country:
1) Visiting the doctor in a new country;
2) Getting ready to travel;
3) Health and misinformation;
4) Pregnancy
5) Nutrition
6) Health information and social media
7) Mental health and migration
8) How to check health information online, reliable sources from all countries
9) Access to medical services
