Toolkit for youth financial literacy using non-formal methods. Includes role-play, simulations, case studies and games to help participants understand budgeting, spending, risk and financial decisions through practical activities.
The toolkit aims to strengthen financial literacy by providing practical methods that help participants understand and manage everyday financial decisions. It supports youth workers, educators and trainers in introducing financial education through engaging non-formal learning approaches. The tool encourages participants to reflect on their financial behaviour, build responsible money habits and develop confidence in making informed financial choices.
This toolkit provides non-formal educational activities that make financial education practical and engaging. Through role-plays, simulations, case studies and reflective exercises, participants explore topics such as budgeting, saving, responsible credit use, investments and financial decision-making while connecting theory with real-life situations.
After using this toolkit, participants will be able to:
• understand basic financial concepts such as budgeting, saving and spending
• recognise financial risks related to loans, scams and impulsive decisions
• analyse financial situations and make more informed choices
• reflect on their personal financial habits and priorities
• develop confidence in discussing financial topics and planning financial goals
