Energize the group screaming after looking into the eyes of participants.

Aims of the tool

This a great and fast energizer to use during a training event to get people out of their seats and having fun. It’s simple and quick and requires no props.

Description of the tool

- Create teams of 10 to 15 people and have them stand in a circle.
- When you (the facilitator) say “Look down!” everyone in the circle looks down at their own feet.
- Tell the group you are about to announce “Look up!” and when you do, they are to look into the eyes of someone else in the circle. (So, while looking down, they must think in advance who they will look at). Then you say “Look up!” and everyone looks at their pre-determined person in the eyes. If, by chance, the person they are looking at is ALSO looking at them then they (the pair) are eliminated from the current round and must step away from the circle.
Those remaining are asked to “Look down” and silently plan out who they plan to look at. Each round will require several series of “Look up - - Look down” sequences before you are left with only 2 people remaining.
- And finally, if you’re wondering why it’s called “Eye Scream” - - you must scream when you make eye contact after the “Look up - - Look down”.

Rules are simple. When asked to “Look down” you must look at your feet. When asked to “Look up” you must look at someone in the eyes. If you make eye contact you are out for that round.
