Exploring Identity through Theatre is a theatre-based experiential learning activity that uses movement, improvisation, storytelling, and creative interaction to help young people explore their identity.

Aims of the tool

● To explore personal identity through movement, metaphor, and storytelling
● To increase self-awareness and emotional expression
● To develop empathy, listening, and group connection
● To encourage creativity and spontaneity in a safe environment

Description of the tool

Exploring Identity through Theatre is a participatory theatre-based activity that invites young people to explore different aspects of their identity through movement, improvisation, storytelling, and creative expression. Through individual, pair, and group exercises, participants reflect on how they see themselves, how they relate to others, and how identity can be expressed beyond words. The process promotes self-awareness, emotional expression, empathy, creativity, and meaningful group connection in a safe and inclusive environment.
