This game is a card game aiming at transferring the values of peace and tolerance, as well as preventing conflicts.

Aims of the tool

1) To transfer the knowledge about peace-keeping,
2) To transfer the knowledge about different econonmic, social, political and environmental phenomena which are relevant in the peace-keeping context,
3) To transfer the skills of cooperation,
4) To transfer the values of tolerance and peace.

Description of the tool

EUTOPIA is an island which has ambition to keep peace and prevent war. During this card game, the players will learn a lot about different social, economic, political and environmental issues related to peace and war. What is more, they will learn how to collaborate together on a common goal - since the game is cooperative in its mechanics. What is more, the game aims at transferring the values of peace and tolerance for diversity. It can be used during youth exchanges, trainings, as well as during a daily youth work.

The game is suitable for all the players older than 8 years old. However, the target group that would benefit the most from the game is youth from all the countries who speaks English at lest communicatively, aged 18-30.

Materials needed:

A3 paper, colourful printer, glue, scissors.
Instruction:
1) print all 15 pages (left part: front, right part: back) in the A3 paper,
2) fold the A3 vertically,
3) glue the two A4 parts together,
4) cut the single cards out
5) enjoy the game! :)

Duration:

15 minutes of the introduction, 30 minutes of the game itself, 15 minutes of debiefing
