Education and Peace Training on Cultural Conflicts
This toolkit was written to support all who want to conduct workshops dealing with the topics of conflict and culture, non violent communication, conflict resolution, group dynamics, the impact of
communication on conflict situations.
Aims of the tool
Main Aims of the Toolkit:
- To increase civil society organizations’ expertise on dealing with different types of conflicts in a non-violent way;
- To demonstrate and implement in practical activities the willingness of new generations to deal with conflicts in peaceful ways;
- To empower young people, activists, trainers and facilitators with the necessary knowledge, know-how, skills, and competences to act as future multipliers in the field of peace-building and promoting intercultural understanding
Description of the tool
Culture and conflict are inextricably linked. When problems surface, between or within cultures, it is often a response to difficulties in dealing with differences. Whether this pertains to racial, religious, political, social, or economic matters,
difference is often a source of fear and misunderstanding.
Drafted and tested on a series of four international training sessions, this toolkit invites you to use the learned tools to spread the message of a peaceful approach to the existing conflicts we are facing on various levels. Tips by the trainers help you to avoid problems
and raise awareness for what the respective workshop can render and what not. To provide you with needed background information the
descriptions are complemented by theoretical parts.
