To create awareness and spread the word around the world about how can Youthworkers apply Emergency Pedagogy in their daily work with children and youngsters at-risk of developing post-stress disorders.
Emergency Pedagogy is a non-confrontational pedagogical approach that helps children and young people process their traumatic experiences. Elements of painting and drawing therapy, circus education and plastic-therapeutic
design are few of the pedagogical measures used to provide relief or avoid possible traumatic disorders.
Millions of youngsters worldwide experience situations which often leave them severely traumatized and alone. The project "From Crisis to Chance – training course on emergency pedagogy” was born from the need to equip Youth Workers with more skills for working with youngsters at-risk of developing post-stress disorders in order to help them to cope and integrate these experiences in
their biography so that their natural development would not be disturbed.
30 Youth workers and 9 Organizations involved in training and education of young people, especially youngsters with fewer opportunities and at-risk of
developing post-traumatic stress disorders, have attended the Erasmus+ training course "From crisis to chance" on emergency pedagogy. These participants got equipped with new skills and competences for young people’s
psychosocial stabilization and trauma prevention and were introduced to traumatology and
emergency pedagogy, a non confrontational, pedagogical approach that helps children and
youngsters in processing their traumatic experiences.
One of the training courses results was this E-brochure, aimed at spreading the method and pedagogical approach through the world.
