Digital Environmental Education
A toolbox for Environmental Education in a Digital approach. It provides several tutorials and physical gadgets for youthworkers involved in environmental education.
Aims of the tool
The aims of the toolkit are the following:
• Produce educational supports on environmental science based on latest digital technologies;
• Boost youth’s maker mindset;
• Innovate youth work;
• Provide young people and educators with.
Description of the tool
This toolkit is the combination of all the outcomes developed during the "Digital Environmental Education", an educational engineering project led by Digijeunes in partnership with HorizonLab (Naples), Pralnia Makerspace (Sokolowsko) and Educentrum (Prague). This project was co-financed by the Erasmus + Program of the European Union. Project n°: 2018-1-FR02-KA205-014144.
The content of this publication does not reflect the official opinion of the European Union. Responsibility for the information and views expressed therein lies entirely with the authors.
The toolkit involves prototyping a series of educational tools relating to environmental education and new digital technologies.
Several tutorials and physical gadgets have been produced in order to enable youth workers across Europe to launch their own hands-on workshops on environmental science based on tech.
The educational resources rely exclusively on free and open source hardware/software. They are divided into three modules:
• Automated gardening;
• Monitoring environmental parameters;
• Smart appliances and remote control.
