Democracy Quiz Battle (“Protmūšis”) is a non-formal learning tool that uses gamification, teamwork, and interactive competition to help young people explore democracy, citizenship, European values, and critical thinking in an engaging way. Participants work in teams and answer quiz questions, solve logic tasks, analyse visual materials, and discuss real-life civic topics such as elections, institutions, media literacy, participation, and human rights.
The activity is designed as a dynamic alternative to traditional lectures, making political and civic education more attractive, understandable, and relevant for young people aged 14–29. It can be organised in schools, youth centres, universities, municipalities, or international youth exchanges. The method combines fun, cooperation, and reflection, while encouraging active participation and dialogue.
