Description of the tool

International youth meetings have an impact! Numerous studies have been able to show what positive effects participation in international mobility has on the development of young people. Nevertheless, access to such offers is still not a matter of course for all young people. To counteract this, the European program Erasmus+ has made the promotion of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities a priority goal. Our strategic partnership DARE DisAble the baRiErs intends to contribute to achieving this important goal with the products it develops and is particularly focused on access opportunities for young people with visual, hearing and physical impairments.

The DARE Guide to Inclusion is the first of four products developed within the DARE partnership. The primary target group of the guide are European experts in (international) youth work as well as youth organizations that want to make their youth work more inclusive.

What does inclusion in the context of international youth work mean?
What do youth workers and facilitators need to know, to plan and implement inclusive international youth exchanges?
The DARE Practical Guide for Inclusion shares practical advice, ideas and insights to equip youth workers, trainers, facilitators and educators with the necessary knowledge and to encourage them to get active in inclusive youth work.

The guide consists of a broad introduction to inclusive international youth work. It then deepens in the five chapters basic principles and practical approaches that will support youth workers in making their activities more inclusive.
