Presentation, Manual
Co-created by 18 youth workers from seven countries, this practical toolkit helps youth workers and organisations use digital tools and AI responsibly across the project cycle for more efficient, inclusive, safe and engaging youth work.
The Connection Blueprint Toolkit aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers and youth organisations to use digital tools and AI with purpose throughout the youth project cycle.
More specifically, it aims to:
- improve planning, coordination, participant management, communication, outreach, evaluation, dissemination and reporting;
help users choose tools according to a real need, desired output, learning purpose and risk, rather than trends;
- develop practical AI literacy, including effective prompting, output verification and the creation of reusable AI assistants;
- support the design of engaging non-formal education activities that connect digital tasks with learning outcomes and Youthpass competences;
- encourage youth workers to test, reflect, adapt and transfer effective digital practices to their organisations.
The Connection Blueprint Toolkit is a practical learning resource for youth workers and youth organisations that want to make digitalisation useful in everyday practice. Rather than presenting tools as trends, it starts with a real need, a project phase, a clear output, a risk check and a learning purpose.
The toolkit covers:
- the foundations and core principles of digital youth work, connected with the Erasmus+ horizontal priorities;
- visibility, outreach and youth engagement, including content formats and practical starter tools;
- project and organisational management, team collaboration, participant experience, evaluation and impact evidence, infopacks and a complete digital project workflow;
- responsible AI use, including ethics, GDPR, accessibility, platform selection and human oversight;
a practical prompting method, ready-to-use examples and techniques for improving outputs;
- the design of reusable AI assistants for recurring youth-work tasks;
- visual mapping, automation and no-code web or app tools;
- a practical model for integrating digital tools into non-formal education, connecting activities with Youthpass competences;
- European resources and a glossary of essential terms.
It can be used for independent learning, staff development, team planning or as the basis for modular workshops. Users can read it from beginning to end or choose a section that matches an immediate need.
The toolkit is designed to help learners strengthen their ability to:
- select digital tools according to purpose, audience, desired output, risk and learning value;
- organise clearer project workflows, responsibilities, files, communication and evidence;
create more relevant, accessible and action-oriented content for young people;
- write stronger prompts, review AI outputs critically and configure a simple reusable AI assistant;
- identify and reduce risks related to privacy, bias, exclusion, misinformation and unsafe automation;
- design participatory digital activities with clear objectives, practice, debriefing, evidence and transfer to real youth work.
