This is a compilation of the main outputs of the project BooStress covering: (1) eBook "‘Health and Safety Skills Ecosystem and Methodological Framework"; (2) Handbook "Skills Assessment Recognition and Validation Tools"; (3) Adaptation & Policy Package

Aims of the tool

“Boosting the skills of youth to deal with stress at work” (or BooStress) is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union (project no. 2017-2-CY02-KA205-001073), coordinated by the research centre CARDET, and and developed a vocational training package to equip current and prospective young workers with stress management skills, in the context of health and safety framework, and build up their capacity to address relevant challenges in their work environment. Apart from the BooStress Online Training Course (of 4 online modules; approx. 20h + 40h additional resources), additional tools have been developed:
(1) The “Health and Safety Skills Ecosystem and Methodological Framework” eBook aims to present the findings from the European and national research activities undertaken by the BooStress project partners in Cyprus, Ireland and Spain and at EU level.
(2) The purpose of the Handbook "Skills Assessment Recognition and Validation Tools" is to provide information to educators, trainers, HR professionals, managers and employers about available tools and resources which they can use so as to assess and validate the learning of young employees in their organisations and businesses, who have completed the BooStress training package.
(3) The purpose of the “Adaptation and Policy Package” is to provide specific guidelines to the BooStress stakeholders regarding two specific implementation areas. On the one hand it shall deliver on how to integrate the BooStress training package into the normal training activities of an organisation, on the other hand it shall provide a policy framework regarding how to promote efficient digital VET and youth education.

Description of the tool

(1) The BooStress eBook “Health and Safety Skills Ecosystem and Methodological Framework” presents the findings following an extensive desk-base and field research process at the beginning of the project, which aimed at presenting the state-of-the-art in relation to stress management policies and existing procedures and resources at national and European level. This eBook also includes a review of recent research on the topic of workplace stress and the impact it has on European businesses. Additionally, it contains good practices and examples of stress management tools and resources for young professionals.
(2) The BooStress Handbook “Skills Assessment, Recognition and Validation Tools” informs interested parties about available tools and resources that they can use to assess and validate the learning of young employees, from their organizations and businesses, who have completed the BooStress training package. It is envisaged that by using the information and resources contained in this handbook, that trainers, managers and HR professionals will better understand the following European tools that can be used for the recognition and validation of learning, and that they will be able to apply this knowledge to develop assessment techniques that are suitable to employees in their own organisations. The tools profiled include: European Qualifications Framework (EQF), European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), EU Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET), Europass and Youth Pass.
(3) The BooStress “Adaptation and Policy Package” provides guidelines based on the collective experience of partners on the adaptation and the integration of the training into their normal training activities. It also provides a policy framework to policy makers and stakeholders on how to mainstream the project’s methods, practices and tools in the national and EU and youth VET initiatives and how to promote efficient digital VET and youth education.
