Exercise
A several step interactive exercise for overcoming fears.
To reflect and share common fears and strong points, to learn to find solutions, overcoming fears.
1. Give a marker and a big piece of paper to each participant in the group (e.g. a newspaper, recycled paper etc.).
2. Ask to fold the paper in 4 parts and then to write in the left low corner the following: your strong points. Then turn the paper and ask to write in the right lower corner: your fears.
3. Ask to turn the folded paper back and draw half a circle in the left upper corner and a square in the right lower corner (see the picture attached).
4. Ask to cut out the half circle and the square and unfold the paper. It is a T-shirt to put on.
5. Ask participants to put on their T-shirts with strong points in front and fears on the back.
6. Divide participants into 5 small groups, where they have to share their common strong points and common fears.
7. The groups have to select 1 fear and write it down on a paper to put on 1 of the 5 tables.
8. Each group has to come up with a story for 1 fear and write it down on the paper.
9. Then each group has to move from one table to another, reading the stories and offering and discussing solutions.
10. Followed by a reflection in the whole group, speaking of:
a) how they liked the game, the moment of surprise
b)how difficult it was to write own strong points and fears, how difficult it was to share them in the groups
c) what do they think about the stories and solutions
d) final comments on what they learned from the exercise
