Manual
Seven participant-designed workshops exploring AI in youth work through practical prompting, creative activities and media literacy, with session plans, facilitator guidance, reusable worksheets and inclusive adaptations.
To support youth workers and facilitators in using AI as a learning tool while keeping human connection, inclusion and critical thinking at the centre of their practice.
The toolkit aims to help users develop clearer prompts, critically review AI-generated content and explore creative applications in youth work. It also encourages participants to question misleading information, verify sources and reflect on privacy, bias and responsible sharing. Its adaptable activities support participation across different levels of digital confidence and access to technology.
''AI Meets Youth Work – A Practical Toolkit with Seven Workshops for Youth Workers and Facilitators” brings together workshop designs created by participants during “EU Networking Lab for AI & Digital Youth Work”, project number KA153-YOU-C97AD106. As the host organisation, NGO New Way is sharing the collection to make participants’ ideas available to other youth-work practitioners.
The seven workshops explore AI and changing career paths, future youth services, text and image prompting, AI-assisted music, manipulation, misinformation and deepfake awareness. Activities combine case studies, group design challenges, creative experimentation, peer feedback and reflection. Participants are encouraged to explore what AI can contribute, question its outputs and identify where human judgement remains essential.
The participant-created designs are presented in a common format covering preparation, delivery, reflection and adaptation. Facilitators can choose individual workshops according to their group’s needs and available time. Guidance includes shared-device and paper-based participation options, privacy precautions and opportunities to contribute without using an AI tool. Suggested facilitator adaptations are distinguished from the original workshop designs.
Reusable worksheets include a career case-study sheet, a future youth-centre canvas, text and image prompt builders, an AI music creative brief, a media-literacy detective sheet and reflection activities. These materials support both practical group work and discussion about responsible AI use.
