The Accessibility Training Course for VET Staff focuses on providing innovative professional development opportunities for vocational education and training staff that works with students with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities.

Aims of the tool

Thanks to this multilingual course (EN/IT/ES/RO), educational staff will be able to:

- Better understand accessibility issues in education for promoting more inclusive teaching and learning practices.
- Improve students’ engagement through new strategies and methods.
- Demonstrate greater confidence in supporting learners by fostering a positive teaching and learning environment.
- Have a positive impact on students during their academic achievements.
- Foster learners’ active participation and personal growth.

Description of the tool

The Accessibility Training Course for VET Staff has been developed as part of the 2-year Erasmus+ project 'Smart Tools for Inclusive Teaching in VET', co-funded by the European Union [Agreement Number 2021-1-IT01-KA220-VET-000029344].

The STIT Accessibility Training Course for VET Staff starts with an initial test followed by 10 interactive video modules developed with AI to make them more cutting-edge and compelling.

The videos delve into the following topics:
1) What is Accessibility?
2) Accessibility in Education in EU Member States
3) The European Accessibility Act
4) Students with Visual Impairments
5) VET Students with Hearing Impairments
6) VET Students with Specific Learning Disorders
7) VET Students with Neurodiversity
8) Inclusive Learning Path
9) Inclusive Design
10) Accessibility Best Practice Examples

After acquiring new information, participants can take a final evaluation quiz.

Upon its successful completion, users can download their course certificate for free.
