A very simple strategy, based on 6 steps, that can be helpful if you have to regenerate abandoned buildings for social aims. In the tool, you will find a more theoretical approach and then an example part.

Aims of the tool

This tool aims at proposing a way of working on abandoned buildings, with the purpose to create a European network of organizations working to improve and implement this strategy.

Description of the tool

The strategy, developed during the Youth Exchange Free Urban Generati-ON, is based on the idea that it is needed to (re)create social spaces, especially in the most disadvantaged areas of our cities. It pushes a lot on the real involvement of local population and other stakeholders, both in the planning and in the implementing part.

In the booklet, you will find a theoretical part, in which you will find a short description of the methods we used.

Then, you will find a presentation of the strategy we developed for the city of Caserta (Italy), during our exchange.
