Aims of the tool

The 3I methodology aims to:
- Develop integrated entrepreneurial competencies that bridge the gap between knowing about entrepreneurship and actually being able to facilitate entrepreneurial capabilities in others
- Provide systematic approaches for building transversal entrepreneurial skills in vocational education and training contexts
- Create transformative learning experiences that develop both technical entrepreneurial knowledge and personal foundations necessary for entrepreneurial success
- Support facilitators in guiding learners through competency-based development rather than traditional knowledge-based instruction
- Enable learners to translate creative insights into practical entrepreneurial action through structured skill development

Description of the tool

Tool Description
The 3I Model is a comprehensive competency-based framework developed through an Erasmus+ project for developing transversal entrepreneurial skills. The methodology centers on three interconnected dimensions: Insight, Independence and Initiative.

Insight Dimension: Develops cognitive and creative capabilities including imagination, appreciation, creativity, seeing possibilities, concept development, and vision creation. Learners develop systematic approaches to opportunity recognition and innovative thinking.
Independence Dimension: Builds personal foundation capabilities including self-awareness, self-efficacy, motivation, focus, and perseverance. This dimension addresses the internal landscape that determines whether individuals can sustain entrepreneurial action over time.
Initiative Dimension: Develops operational capabilities for transforming ideas into action, including problem-solving, value creation, decision-making under uncertainty, prioritization, and implementation planning.
The guide provides complete implementation support including:

- Detailed facilitator preparation protocols and competency requirements
- Multiple delivery models (3-day intensive, extended weekly, blended learning, workplace integration)
- Step-by-step module implementation guides with specific activities and timings
- Comprehensive assessment frameworks using multi-modal approaches
- Complete activity library with over 20 structured exercises
- Assessment instruments and rubrics for competency evaluation
