Active Europeans for Active Citizenship

"Active Europeans for Active Citizenship" will be a 8-day training course in Serbia for youth workers and youth leaders coming from 10 European countries.

Academic Society "Novi Beograd" is looking for partners for the project “Active Europeans for Active citizenship” that is planning to submit to EACEA on 3rd of April deadline. The project will be a 8-day training course for youth workers and youth leaders coming from 10 European countries, that will be organized in autumn or winter in Serbia.

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT:

The training course will promote European citizenship, European awareness and active participation and will aim to improve the competences of the participants in these fields, more concretely focusing on overall improvement of Citizenship education in European youth work. The project will support the professional development of youth workers and youth leaders in order to equip them with the right knowledge, skills and attitudes to organize and run activities on local, national or international level that aim to educate young people about citizenship, the European Union and participation in political, economic and social life by promoting European citizenship, European awareness, European identity, European values and active participation. The training course will also aim to foster international partnerships and cooperation in the youth field with organisations working on citizenship education, European citizenship and active participation of young people.

The project will explore the concepts and perceptions of citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular, their contemporary meanings, dimensions, understandings and ways they are used. The project will also tackle the challenges of citizenship education in youth work and active involvement of young people and will introduce the structure and role of EU institution and decision-making processes within the EU.

The project methodology will be based on non-formal education, experiential and intercultural learning with strong encouragement of sharing personal experiences, knowledge and best practices.

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES:

We are looking for partners organisations from EU Programme countries (28 EU member states + Macedonia + Turkey) or Partner Western Balkan countries (Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo (UNSCR 1244) and Bosnia and Herzegovina).

PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:

Each partner organisation should send 3 participants that should be youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, volunteers in youth organisations, NGO/public sector staff working with youth, over 18 years old and involved in the work of the organisations.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS:

The applicant organisation will fully cover the accommodation, meals and program materials for the participants. Travel costs will be covered up to the 100% if they do not exceed the amounts established by the Erasmus+ Programme . There is no participation fee.
