LAG 5

LAG-Local Action Group 5 is an NGO registered on May 30, 2012 and has its own statute. LAG 5 stretches on 5,166 km2 of land area in the southernmost county of Croatia-County of Dubrovnik-Neretva. LAG 5 covers five areas: Dubrovačko primorje, Ston, peninsula of Pelješac, islands of Mljet, Korčula and Lastovo. It comprises 12 local authorities: Municipality of Dubrovačko primorje, Ston, Janjina, Trpanj, Orebić, Mljet, Lumbarda, Smokvica, Blato, Korčula, Lastovo and Town of Korčula. Administrative structure: the President, Vice President, Management Board, Supervisory Board, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. LAG 5 was formed for the purpose of promoting rural development and improving rural living standards and working conditions. LAG 5 activities are: preparation of local development strategies, implementation of the LEADER approach, developing a network of partners in the LAG 5 area, education and training of members, promoting the concept of sustainable development, and other.
